Beaches

Busua

Although you will be staying in Busua, it would not be right to not mention it for your weekends! You can spend your free days chilling on the golden sand beach, learning to surf from the local trainers or just sit back and relax in one of the beach bars.

Cape Three Points

The long, pristine white sandy beach is by far one of the best in Ghana. Not only can you spend your days on the beach looking out for sea turtles and humpback whales, but you can also hike in the local forests, explore cocoa and rubber plantations and go on canoe trips through mangroves.

Anomabo

The sands and low-key surf are certainly the big draw in Anomabu, with the stunning beaches among the best in the country. Head off into the village where there is a historic fort and a number of traditional shrines.

Points Of Interest

Kakum National Park

In this beautiful rainforest there are endangered forest elephants, colobus monkeys, 300 species of bird and lots more wildlife! The main attraction has to be walking along the famous canopy walkway that is suspended 30 metres above the forest floor!

Cape Coast Castle

This imposing, whitewashed castle commands the heart of the town and overlooks the sea. Once one of the world’s most important slave-holding sites, it provides a horrifying insight into the workings of the slave trade. You will get to visit the dark and damp dungeons and the contrasting governor’s bedroom.

Kumasi

Once the capital of the rich and powerful Ashanti Kingdom, Kumasi is Ghana’s second largest city. Still with many Ashanti traditions, you can visit the huge Kejetia market, Lake Bosumtwe and just wander the congested streets!
